Women in Combat – A Thought

I’ve been reading the arguments against women in combat MOS with interest and noticed a shift as the initial knee-jerk furor died down.

Apparently people are beginning to be more worried that troops will be less effective because they’ll be protective and concerned for their female troopmates.

And this confuses me, because it implies there’s a level of concern and protectiveness greater than that already there between troops.

How can you be *more* solicitous for a female in your unit than you already are for everyone else in it? Are you holding back? Do you do less than your ultimate for your current squad than you would do for a female?

A curious position.
